The President of the Romanian Court of Accounts, Mr. Mihai Busuioc, together with a delegation of the institution, paid an official visit to Seoul, during 10-14 November, at the invitation of his counterpart, Mr. Choe Jaehyeong, President of the Board of Audit and Inspection of the Republic of Korea.

In the context of developing bilateral relations and facilitating the exchange of information and experience, the officials of the two Supreme Audit Institutions discussed their organization and functioning in order to streamline and modernize the audit activity.

On the agenda of the discussions, the main topics addressed focused on debating issues of common interest regarding the use of risk analysis in selecting the audit topics and the specific tools of the IT system in support of the audit activity. On this occasion, the delegation of the Romanian Court of Accounts was welcomed by Mr. Yong-sik Moon, the President of the National Information Society Agency (NIA)  with headquarter in Je-Ju, context on which discussions were held on the national strategy for informatization of the society from the Republic of Korea, respectively the strategic development objectives for the next three years.

We have identified, together with Mr. Choe Jaehyeong, the topics of common interest in the field of audit that we will explore in the next period. The discussions also focused on a series of topics regarding the institutional relationship of the two SAIs with the national Parliaments, the analysis of the specific audit activity from the perspective of the performance indicators, as well as the expertise of the Board of Audit and Inspection of the Republic of Korea in its activities to prevent and combat corruption.

We are very pleased with the visit of our colleagues from Romania and I would like to thank them on this occasion for supporting our institutions candidacy to become a member of the UN Audit Committee for 2020-2026.
